Alternatively, download the Uber or Grab app and book in advance. Both operate in Bali, with Grab often slightly cheaper. Expect $8-12 USD to central Seminyak. Pricing is transparent, no negotiation required.

Local tip: Avoid taxis that aggressively solicit you in arrivals. Walk past them, head to the official rank, or use the app. Legitimate taxis don't need to hustle.

Companies like Perama and Kura-Kura offer shared shuttle vans to various Bali destinations (Seminyak, Ubud, Canggu, etc.), costing $8-15 USD depending on destination. They're flexible—you share with other travelers, which means meeting people on day one.

Shuttles depart regularly throughout the day but run on loose schedules. If your arrival is flexible, this is economical and has a genuine backpacker charm.

If traveling light with minimal luggage, Bali's ubiquitous ojek (motorbike taxis) offer an authentic, economical option. Cost to Seminyak is around ₹60,000-80,000 ($4-5 USD). It's thrilling, slightly chaotic, and wonderfully Balinese.

This is for confident travelers comfortable with motorbike travel. Women and nervous passengers should skip this option in favor of cars.

Many travelers rent cars with drivers for airport transfer ($25-40), which can continue as a resource throughout their stay. If planning daily excursions, this pays dividends—drivers know routes, can navigate traffic, and often share cultural insights.

Book through your hotel or apps like Turo. A full day of car and driver costs $50-80, making multi-day arrangements economical.

If heading to Ubud (the cultural heart, two hours north), skip the small shuttle vans. Arrange a private driver through your guesthouse ($45-60) or book a minivan service directly. Ubud journeys are long enough to merit comfort.

Alternatively, take a shuttle to Seminyak, settle there for a night, and travel to Ubud the next day refreshed. The drive is beautiful and worth taking while alert.
